Hey SLCF!
Hey guys,
Hope you are recovering from a great time skiing over the weekend. I only wish they would have had this epic skiing ostrich at Caberfae:

Tuesday 6pm:
Dorm Dinner! Meet in front of Earhart Hall to enjoy dinner with other Salt and Lighters who live in the dorms! :)
NOTE: Dorm dinner is open to all but it's called "Dorm Dinner" for a reason. Unless you are invited by someone in the Dorm who is planning on swiping you in, you should plan on paying the $8 bucks for yo dinna. Capish?
Same Day 7pm:
My personal favorite thing to look forward to:
Prayer & Praise: Come pray and join in worship in the middle-ish of the week! It's a great time to realign your thinking back to God, and be encouraged by the testimony and praises of others.
Thursday 12pm
Crosswalk Prayer Meeting : We have a wonderful opportunity to pray with the leadership on the Crosswalk project. Every Thursday they meet at the Crosswalk property and pray! They would love if we joined them so come and pray for God to work in this great ministry.
W.A.M. WAM! Settlers of Catan (and other games) Game Night.
6:30pm Meet for carpooling @ the international house!
So looking forward to this. It will be a joint event with Dave Nannery's ABF (good ol' Dave =). This will be a chance for us as a group to get to know other members of KSBC, Hosted by Allen and Carmen Gilbert, members of Koinonia. Their address is 3635 Sunnyview Drive. You can Google Maps it if to get directions. There will be people meeting at the Old Promise Place to give you a ride at 6:30 if you need a ride.
Encouragement Week!
(Oh Yeah! Be encouraged!)
Thought inspiring quote.
"We are the richest people ever to walk the face of the earth. Period. Yet, most of us live as though there is nothing terribly wrong in the world. We attend our kid's soccer games, pursue our careers, and take beach vacations while 40 percent of the world's inhabitants struggle just to eat every day. And in our own backyards, the homeless, those residing in ghettos, and a wave of immigrants live in a world outside the economic and social mainstream of North America. We do not necessarily need to feel guilty about our wealth. But we do need to get up every morning with a deep sense that something is terribly wrong with the world and yearn and strive to do something about it. There is simply not enough yearning and striving going on."
~ Steve Corbett & Brian Fikkert
Walk with the King today, and be a blessing. (My Dad always used to say that... I think it's from the radio)

Hey everyone! Hope you're enjoying the lovely fall weather this week. Sorry the newsletter is being sent out late, it's been a pretty crazy week! This email is PACKED full of information, so read carefully!!
WAM is Friday 11-6 ~ Wallyball!!! Meet in front of the co-rec (or main lobby area) at like 6:15ish. We will have 2 courts reserved for Wallyball, so if you get there late and don't see anyone, wander around the courts until you find us :). Make sure you invite your friends for this exciting time (It's not every day you can nail them in the head with a ball and remain friends). Maybe you're like Steve and are injured and unable to play or you're like Lindsey and scared of the ball... well guess what. . . after Wallyball we will be going to the Promise Place (613 Waldron) to watch a movie.. . maybe UP! (if it's out).
Sunday: As previously challenged by Mitch, try to be at ABF before 9:30 so that we can PROMPTLY start at 9:30. Since our time is short, we need to make sure we're no time to get things going.
Prayer times for this week are cancelled. HOWEVER, this does not mean don't pray!! Make sure you're praying for Salt & Light, fellow Christians, and non-believers.
Encouragement week is coming up!! Remember, the purpose of this is to encourage your fellow Salt & Lighters. It is more fun when this is done on a secret level. You are only required to pray for this person; however, some people go over the top and level secret messages and gifts to their partner in order to brighten their day. Just a helpful hint. . . if you send them an email, create a fake account to send it from!! If you are not signed up and want to participate, contact Lindsey Ackerman (lindsey.ackerman@gmail.com).
Fun facts :
---Andrew Bosserman's birthday was Tuesday 11-2
----Dan Lehe's birthday was Wednesday 11-3
-----The average person has 100,000 hair on his/her head. Each hair grows about 5 inches (12.7 cm) every year. Just seeing if you're paying attention!!! :)
"For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off. . ." Psalm 37:28
Hello? Dorm people…are you there? Ok, now that I got your attention,
I’ll assume you didn’t know about dorm dinners every Tuesday night at
6pm! It’s at Earhart this week. Meet outside the entrance to the
food court. This is a great time to hang out at supper with other
people in SLCF. Also, you never know what’s going to happen! My
freshman year, one of the guys accidentally dropped a whole ice cream
cone on my friend’s head! ☺
Prayer & Praise is at the Promise Place this Tuesday and every Tuesday
at 7pm. It’s a great time to refocus in the middle of the week and
hear Victoria try to sing along!
W.A.M. this week is our annual HAYRIDE!!! @ the Lehe’s. Meet at the
Light House @ 6:30pm this Friday. This is a great opportunity to
bring your friends to learn about Christ and to have a good ole’ time
with some Christians. We’re planning (hopefully) to have a tug-of-war
contest and a pumpkin carving contest. We’ll provide transportation
but if you want to drive yourself, e-mail me jareandbecc@yahoo.com for
directions!
Missions Conference this weekend! Dr. Tim Sisk, who is Chair and
Professor of World Missions and Evangelism at Moody Bible Institute,
will be giving 2 forum sessions on Saturday night at the church. It
starts at 5pm and there will be supper in between the forums. I
strongly urge everyone to come. All Christians should somehow be
involved in missions and this will be a great way to learn more about
what’s going on in World Missions! Since supper is provided, please
contact Jared jareandbecc@gmail.com by tomorrow if you want to go.
