SLCF: Activities for the week of 1/10. Check it Out!

Hello everyone and welcome to the Year 2010! School is starting soon but no grumbling! Yeah that's right, I went there.

I hope you all guys had an excellent Christmas break hanging out with friends and family. Lindsey and I made this awesome gingerbread house with zombies! Check out the pictures here: Picture 1, Picture 2, Picture 3
OK so we didn't really make that house, but that is pretty much the coolest gingerbread house ever. Period.

Anyway, onto the awesome events we have for the first week of the semester...

Tuesday
Dorm Dinner!!!
Back by popular demand. Meet at 6PM at Earhart dining court for a time of fellowship, food, and fun.

Prayer and Praise!!!
7PM at the Promise Place (603 Waldron.) A great time to worship with other students and hear how amazing and awesome God is.

Friday
Ski Trip 2010!!!
There is so much to say about this that you should definitely check out the facebook poster here. For those of you afraid of wasting the next 15 minutes on facebook, here are some quick details: Skiing in Michigan. Leaving Friday at 5:30PM. Vicroria in a hippie snow outfit. Ryan Cardinal speaking -Yes, you read right, Mister Cardinal. That's just a small snippet, seriously check out the event.

I also want to ask you guys to lift Salt and Light up in Prayer. There are so many different things to pray about but here are just a few:
  • Ski Trip would be a great time for fellowship as well as getting perhaps some unbelievers plugged into SL. Safety is also important.
  • Upcoming PODS bible study structure.
  • To continue to come before God asking for his help, guidance, and wisdom in witnessing and growing the students within the group and around Purdue.
That's about all I got. One final thing: If any student is interested in being in charge of the newsletter for this coming semester please let me know. It's not all that much work and it's more about delegating it to a variety of people and making sure it gets sent out each week.

Have a great week back to school!
-Steve Ackerman
