BGR Week!!!

Wow! What an incredible week so far. For those of you who don't know, BGR (Boiler Gold Rush) is the freshmen orientation week at Purdue. This week is a great time for Salt and Light to find contacts among the new freshmen.

On Monday and Tuesday afternoon, Jared and Andrew spoke at the University Religious Leaders session. Freshmen came to the session if they were interested in learning more about the religious groups on campus. It went pretty well. Victoria and I got to join Jared, Mitch, and Megan at the Tuesday session. It was crazy seeing all the different groups in one room together especially when one of the leader's shirt said "We make queer boring." You'll have to ask me if you want to know more! We only got a couple of contacts from that but helping just 1 person in their spiritual growth is worth it all!

The biggest event was the Activity Fair on Tuesday. This event is huge! All the new freshmen come to the Armory to make contacts with all sorts of groups...religious groups, military, work programs, restaurants, etc. We were able to make 33 contacts at the Fair and passed out 500+ fliers! We're now just waiting to hear back from the freshmen.

We still have Movie Night this Friday to look forward to! We're hoping that a lot of the freshmen we contacted will come to it!

What you can be doing...
Come to some of the events to help and meet college students (look on church website for events)
Pray for the new freshmen as they make the college transition
Pray for Movie Night to be a success (a lot of new students who want to grow spiritually!)

Your sister in Christ,
Becca K
